Serving safety professionals for over 25 years

The Institute serves safety professionals in technology and research including education, industry, government agencies and consultancy.

The aim of the Institute is to enhance the knowledge, competence and professional development of its members through networking, accreditation, knowledge exchange, workshops and symposia, communication with regulators and partnerships with other safety organisations.

Membership is open to safety professionals and Associate Membership is available to anyone whose knowledge and experience do not qualify them as Members but who can show they have a sufficient interest in the activities of ISTR.

The ISTR Executive Committee, made up of elected and co-opted members, manage the affairs of the Institute.

ISTR and the Society for Radiological Protection are pleased to announce a free joint webinar on non-ionising radation.

Are you a laboratory or workplace safety officer, a radiation safety supervisor or otherwise involved in supporting safety within your workplace?
Do you manage a workplace which has equipment with potentially hazardous optical or electromagnetic field emissions, such as welding equipment, induction heating, ultra violet lamps, magnetic resonance equipment, lasers, high current motors, demagnetisers, substations/switch-rooms,/transformers, electric charging, broadcast antennas, etc.?
Would you like to gain better insight regarding the control and management of these risks?
Would you like be better informed regarding regulatory and governance issues surrounding non-ionising radiation safety?
Do you have any 'workers at particular risk', (e.g. personnel with implanted medical devices that may be susceptible to interference from electro-magnetic fields - such as pacemakers, implanted defibrillators, body-worn insulin pumps , heart pumps, etc)
