COVID-19 - clearing the air: Influencing the design of effective building ventilation in a post-COVID world

ISTR online discussion

Friday 26 February, 10.30 - 12.00 am, via Zoom

This online discussion is aimed at beginning to integrate the collective expertise of ISTR members into the future use of ventilation solutions and building HVAC design to control airborne contaminants. We want to know about your experiences, understand your concerns and hear your thoughts.

The COVID-19 pandemic has generated concern regarding a lack of collaboration between engineering and safety experts. Guidance has often been too engineering focused and sometimes appears mis-leading.

It seems likely that building ventilation systems, in whatever type of building, will be assessed differently in a post-COVID world.  To achieve meaningful operational and design guidance for the future, it is time to align engineering and safety (including biosafety) disciplines.

Who should attend?

This discussion will be of direct interest and relevance to those working in the following areas:

Safety Practitioners and Estates and Facilities Managers working in university, industry and healthcare settings

Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management members

CIBSE Healthcare Group members

Association of University Directors of Estates members

The discussion is open to ISTR members and non-members alike as the views and perspectives of all attendees are valuable.
